I’ll give you the tips here – are you ready?

Just friends and acquaintances?

Are you frustrated that you do not have so many followers on Instagram? If you want to be famous on Instagram, you need to focus on ways to get attention for your photos.

You can quickly experience problems getting followers outside of friends, friends and family, and maybe even the very best photos of you will only get a few likes, and maybe no comments either.

It’s now you simply have to decide to figure out how to grow big on Instagram! As I said, I will help you with my guide to Instagram.

If you have a large Instagram account, it can be smart to think about creating a website / blog – it can be very profitable!

Of course, it can take time and a lot of work to get thousands of followers on Instagram and your goal may be different – but it must be said: Instagram is much more fun when many people follow you!

Let’s take a look at three different steps you must take to quickly become famous on Instagram!

Step 1: Build a striking Instagram feed

The first step is to make your Instagram profile look great. No one will follow an empty profile or a profile that has poor quality images.

If the goal is to showcase your photos, it is absolutely essential that the photos you post look really good. It is much better not to post anything than to post a bad photo.

The first thing you need to do is upload about 15-20 of your very best photos. If you do not have that many, just get started and make sure you only post high quality photos that catch the eye and attention of the users.

If you are in the starting pit, it is usually a good idea to improve your photography on the phone before you try to build an audience on Instagram, as followers only like to follow those who have interesting photos.

To start with improving your photography, you need to work on creating photos with excellent composition that will catch the reader’s eye. Learn to use light to create striking and dramatic images.

You should also learn to use the camera settings so that you are familiar with all the image functions.

Consider using one of the many camera apps available for your phones. Editing your Instagram photos with a photo editing app is also important to ensure they look their best before sharing.

Spending time improving your photography will pay off, and well so, when you are going to grow on Instagram.

Also keep in mind that certain types of photos do extra well on Instagram. From experience, beach photos, interesting photos with reflections, silhouette photos and photos of sunsets get the most likes on Instagram. Portraits usually generate fewer likes.

If you want to be popular on Instagram, it is important that you post the type of photos that your followers will see, and therefore there are many who post photos of beaches and sunsets.

If you want to get more followers on Instagram, it is always smart to post the type of photos that get more likes.

If you use Instagram to share what you eat for dinner and what you do when you are with your friends, you can not expect people you do not know to not follow you. This is not the type of photos a serious photographer wants to share.

Do not post text pictures or jokes, no matter how cool and funny you think they are. Also avoid posting random screenshots as most people do not really like this.

So: before you go to the next step, make sure your Instagram account is public. You do this on your profile under ‘options, and then you scroll down and will see a button that says‘ Private account ’.

See if this is turned off, and if it is not, your Instagram photos will not be public – and consequently it will be difficult to get more followers.

Finally: take a moment to write a profile description that motivates people to follow you. It does not have to be so complicated, but simply describe yourself in a meaningful way.

You simply have to describe who you are to find the right followers, whether you are a food lover, landscape photographer or model.

Step 2: Let your Instagram photos be noticed

Once you have uploaded some really good photos and made your profile look interesting, it’s time to grab everyone’s attention. Your goal is to get more Instagram followers, as well as more likes and comments on your photos.

There are several ways to get people to notice your photos and thus gain more followers, and we will look at this in this section.

First of all; Reach out to your existing friends and followers from other social networks. Since these are already following you, there is a high probability that they will become a follower. You can simply send a message or share a post inviting your friends to follow you.

If you have a lot of followers on another social network, such as Twitter and Facebook, you can cross-post your Instagram photos to these social media.

This way you will build followers on Instagram while sharing interesting photos with people who would not have seen them anyway.

To get your Instagram photos shown in front of several people, you should consider using hashtags.

Adding hashtags when posting a photo means that the image will appear in the current hashtag feed.

To add a hashtag, use the text box when posting an image, and then enter the hashtag symbol # followed by an appropriate word that describes your image – e.g. #keveducate 😉

Make sure you add relevant hashtags to your photos (yes, you can use multiple hashtags). However, there is no need to spam your photos with dozens of irrelevant hashtags – you will only make yourself look like a spammer.

If you post a beach photo with a sunset and human silhouettes, appropriate hashtags can e.g. be: #strand #silhouette #sunset. For example, if you have used a special app to edit the image, you can also use a hashtag with the name of the app.

Besides using hashtags, one of the easiest ways to get your photos out to other Instagrammers is simply to follow lots of other people.

Just find someone with pictures that are somewhat similar to yours and start following them. They will then receive a message saying that you are following them, and many of them will then check out your profile.

However, following someone is not enough. You also need to interact with the people you follow. If you follow someone and do not like or comment on any of their photos, you are simply considered to be a so-called ‘ghost follower’. Instagram is generally not fond of such profiles as scammers often use this strategy to promote their fake profiles.

You get better results if you comment on the photos of those you follow, and this is how they see that you are a real person.

If following other users is too impractical, you can also get a lot of exposure by leaving meaningful comments on the photos of other users – even if you do not follow them.

When you leave a meaningful and positive comment, there is a good chance that the user will be curious and check out your profile. If your profile is good, as described in step 1, you can get a new follower.

Leaving comments on the phone can be slow and tedious. You should consider using an online Instagram service such as IconoSquare that allows you to quickly and systematically leave comments from your computer.

Your comment should be targeted, and this means that you should only leave comments that have a good chance of becoming a follower of yours.

How do you find such users then? It’s easy! All you have to do is use hashtags to search for people who take the same type of photos as you. You can do this search feature on Instagram.

If you are a landscape photographer, you can search for hashtags such as # Landscape Photography, #Landscape Photography, #Landscape, #Mountains and #Outdoorlife – to name a few examples. Users who post photos with such hashtags have a greater chance of liking your profile and consequently could become a follower of you.

You can also quickly search through images that have been posted with a special hashtag by using the search function on Iconosquare.

Finally; It’s much more likely that your comments will be noticed by people who do not have hundreds of likes or thousands of followers (as they get fewer comments). You also have a greater chance of being noticed if the photo you are commenting on has been posted recently.

Step 3: Engage with your followers on Instagram

While everyone is mostly obsessed with the number of followers they have, making your followers happy and engaging is just as important – especially if you want to build a relationship with them and get the most out of your Instagram experience.

First of all, you should post pictures regularly so that users do not forget who you are. Have a goal of posting photos daily or e.g. three to four times a week. Then your followers will look forward to seeing your new photos. But as I said: keep in mind that the quality must be good enough.

At the same time, it is the case that you should not post too often either. There is nothing worse than sharing multiple photos at once as they take up a lot of space in the feed of your followers.

If someone does not like one of your photos, the chances are high that they will continue to follow you, but if you post three photos in a row, the chances are significantly greater that you will lose a follower.

Because of this, I do not recommend posting more often than every six hours. Remember that quality always beats quantity, and it’s much better to share only great photos – even if it means posting less often.

To make your photos more fascinating and valuable to your followers, it may be wise to add an interesting or useful description. You can ask a question, tell a story about how you took the picture or add helpful tips that can be related to the picture.

And last but not least, the headline made you read this article. Answer their comments and questions. Simple things like saying ‘Thank you’ or answering a question about how you took the photo and which apps you used will usually make you stand out from the crowd!

Communicating and interacting with your followers is a great way to keep them happy and engaged. There is nothing more rewarding than building lasting relationships with your followers on Instagram!
